EDITOR NOTES
Version 2.8 and later requires Mac OS X 10.6 or later. For earlier operating systems (Tiger and Leopard), see Related Links for version 2.7.
DESCRIPTION
Album Artwork Assistant finds album cover artwork on the Internet and adds it to music track files in iTunes.
WHAT'S NEW
Version 2.9:
  • Fixes a crash introduced in version 2.8 on 64 bit when searching for an album with parentheses in the name. Seems I enabled 64 bit for the first time and disabled PPC by accident in version 2.8. This version again contains PPC code but I’m not even sure it works anymore.
REQUIREMENTS
Mac OS X 10.6 or later.

SETHLESSER  This program works magnificently! It works cleanly and simply and the website search function works so easily that I will not rely on the other programs (or iTunes own album art search) again. It is actually superior to other methods because you search for and see the best copy of the album cover you are looking for.

TEKL  Really helpful, but it would be nice to have quicklook or bigger zoom.

LOUNGE DELUXE  This is truly an amazing app. As so many of us I already tried numerous apps and widgets that find missing cover art, but Album Art Assistant stands out above all of them. It shows the resolution of the found cover art, and it even lets you adjust the search queue manually when it doesn't find the right cover art because you have added something like "disc 1" to the album title.

If cover art doesn't find anything (relevant) you can go to the build-in(!) web browser and search for your cover art, right-click on it and add it! Impressive!

And its speed is blazing fast. Adding cover art to songs is double as fast compared to when I manually select an album in iTunes, click ctrl-i, paste the cover art into its field and have iTunes adjust the music files. Now that's amazing, AAA is double as efficient as the programmers of Apple could achieve for this particular task (I use only Apple Lossless files).

Thank you dev for this beautiful app. Highly recommended!

CJAZZY  Just downloaded it and was quickly able to find 5 album covers for individual tracks. One-click upload and the album art was added to iTunes. Thank you. I only wish I found this months earlier!

DOODAH  Works well... but I agree with another poster that the previews could be a little larger.

Thanks to the developer

AIKOUSHA  And to add to the previous... if it could work under 10.4 (Tiger), that'd be a plus, too.

LIYANAGE  I?m sorry about the 10.5 requirement, but I can?t change that because I use features that are only available in that OS release (Objective-C garbage collection).

These features made development and maintenance of the application so much easier that I decided to develop specifically for 10.5.

AUSBOWTIE  Great product - works quickly and well - and it's free! My only suggestion: the preview screen could show the images a little larger.

LIYANAGE  Assuming you refer to the size of the search result thumbnails, there are two ways to get bigger previews:

1.) the zoom slider

2.) hitting the space bar when a thumbnail is selected, that will open a QuickLook panel
