DREMWKR  Of its genre this app is the easiest to use. I can see the mac and this app being the "film projector" of the classroom future. And it works. All Mac Educators need to check this out, so you can see for yourself what I am saying.

FLOWERM  I am a university professor and I make use of a growing number of YouTube and Google videos (public lectures on political topics, for example). I tried out a number of applications for locating and downloading the videos. iTubeX Ultimate topped my list for ease of use. I tried it for a few days and then purchased it. iTubeX Ultimate's developer continues to improve its functionality (today's release includes the ability to search sources from within the application--nice touch). I recommend giving it a try. It's a first-rate application.

DBEST13  hi ... I am interested in purchasing your product ... I teach school and quite often would like to bring in video from newsites, etc. to share with the class. My question is, does itubeX Ultimate work with sites like USAToday, CNN, MSNBC, and so on? I ran out of free tries before I could find out.

Thanks,

Doug

JORIS VERVUURT  Hi Doug,

From the sites you named, USAToday is currently not supported.

However CNN.com and MSNBC.com are supported.

If you want me to test other sites for you, please let me know!

------------------------

To download a video from CNN:

- Select 'Other site (.flv)...' from the source menu.

- Go to the page which contains the video you want to download.

- Press the play button to play the video online.

- Now click 'Download current/last video as a .flv file'

------------------------

To download a video from MSNBC.com:

- Go to MSNBC.com in your internet browser (not iTubeX Ultimate).

- In your internet browser, go to the video you want to download. Now copy the URL in the Address bar.

- Go to iTubeX Ultimate and paste the URL in the URL Field.

- Select 'Other site (.flv)...' from the source menu.

- Now click 'Download current/last video as a .flv file'

-------------------------

Thanks,

Joris

AIKOUSHA  Anyone know if this works on the BBC website, or can download streaming Real or Microsoft media files?

I can manually download everything else, from everywhere else, I've ever needed to go, with a simple double-click.

If it can, then it's definitely worth a look (all other D/Lrs like this have always failed in one form or other, even on simple sites like DISCOVERY).

I'm sorry.

These are one of the few sites that are not supported.

Maybe they will be supported in a later version (not in version 4.1 which will be online today).

Thanks,

Joris

JORIS VERVUURT  The new menu items are in the 'View' menu.

The Compact and Fullscreen menu items are now under the 'Window' menu in the menubar.

The field where you enter the Video URL, is rounded if you use version 4.0.

It might be possible that you have an older version linked to the icon in your Dock. Please check if this isn't the cause of your problem.
