- back to blue dock progress bar. horizontal and bigger than the original.
- dragging rars with non-rars would cause Ez7z to only use unrar or only use 7za. now it alternates for each item.
- added "incorrect password" error when expanding an encrypted archive without a password or with the wrong one.
- added "Multiple items icon by Pierre Morin" to about window
- changelog from readme is now inside the dmg as the license agreement
- centered text on process window buttons
- resized about window textbox's width to match the end of the button in the bottom right of the window
- slight indents added to about text for easier legibility
- output text now reads once more when the process is done. a line or two might be left off the output without this fix.
- changed size of filepath textbox of process window from regular to small.
- changed size of item count textbox of process window from small to regular.
- added DUTCH translation!
- added GERMAN translation!
- added "this archive is corrupt" to another part of the script. hopefully this will catch the other kind of error that may show up when opening a corrupt archive

MYANMAR First of all thanks for what i consider a truly useful application for mac. I noticed that since newer versions i'm no more able to see the log with the results of the operationand therefore i can't understand if all files extracted are ok or something inside the folder is corrupted. Am i missing something ? (Version 1.59)

LEIF HEFLIN Pretty much every error that could occur is now displayed within Ez7z, therefore the log is now not necessary for most operations. It's still being created just not displayed, except for PAR2 repairing/verifying and when it comes across a file with a ' in it. If you still want to look at it just right-click on Ez7z in the finder and click "Show Package Contents", then "Contents", "Resources", and open "tempLog.txt". Ez7z delete's this file when you quit, so you'll have to do it while it's still open. (Version 1.59)

LEIF HEFLIN and you're welcome for the useful app :) (Version 1.59)

YOSHINATSU Why don't you go for keka then? Let the man do his job. (Version 1.551)

LEIF HEFLIN Alright I'll add on to my reply: Keka does NOT do everything this does. No par2 support. Sure Ez7z doesn't open up exe's or cab files but why would a mac user need that? Keka is also less aesthetically pleasing, and uses a brown version of the BOMB archiver's icons. I've put 5 years of work into this program and keka just appeared when I decied to start charging for this. Also, there are many other archivers that cost money: springy, iarchver, betterzip, stuffit, and more. They all cost MORE that Ez7z. Please try my program before dissing its 4.99 price tag. (Version 1.56)

HAL2007 Thanks for pointing me to Keka. Exactly what I needed. Works flawless, and it's free. (Version 1.59)

26CAB40 Installed 7za and Ez7z. Started app, dropped 56mb folder, set to 7z maximum compression. Got dialogue box about progress bar. Then nothing, no progress bar. App does not hang but remains stuck and unable to progress to next step. 7za command line works fine, similar apps like GUI Tar are also fine. (Version 1.49)

LEIF HEFLIN Try again to a different folder. Also, the dialog just goes away once it's determined the file sizes to use for the bar. The bar only shows up once that size has been affected. So there could be progress, just no changing file size (yet). Lastly, max compression takes a looong time for me at least. (Version 1.49)

IAMEXILE When I tried to expand files (part of split files), I got the following message: Can't make word 2 of "" into type string. (-1700) Could anyone tell me how to solve the problem? Thanks! (Version 1.45)

LEIF HEFLIN Open the preferences window, if you are opening a split RAR archive then check the "Use unRAR to expand split archives" box. If you are opening any other kind of split archive, uncheck this box. (Version 1.45)
| Jan 22 2010 |
IAMEXILE Thank you. The problem is solved. (Version 1.45)

LEIF HEFLIN You must have all the parts of the archive to be able to do anything useful with it. Once you have all 5, just open the 1st (the 001 file) with Ez7z. (Version 1.42)

APPLEJUNKIE Thank you. I downloaded all 5 parts, dragged the 1st part into Ez7z, clicked "Expand". This resulted in a log message that contained several sentences including... and a new file named: movie_name.part.dvd.7z It seems like Ez7z combined all 5 parts into a single file and decompressed everything (the new file is 5.17GB in size). My question now is... what's next? How do I turn this new file into a movie file? (Version 1.422)
| Jan 3 2010 |
LEIF HEFLIN (not sure if this'll show up in the right spot because I didn't see a reply link under your comment) If it just gave you 1 7z file then open that 7z file with Ez7z. (Version 1.422)
| Jan 3 2010 |
LEIF HEFLIN ...and by open, I mean expand. (Version 1.422)
| Jan 3 2010 |
APPLEJUNKIE When I try to expand the 7z file I receive the following log results: 7-Zip (A) 9.04 beta Copyright (c) 1999-2009 Igor Pavlov 2009-05-30 p7zip Version 9.04 (locale=utf8,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,2 CPUs) Processing archive: /Users/username/Desktop/movie_name.part.dvd.7z Error: Can not open file as archive (Version 1.422)
| Jan 3 2010 |
LEIF HEFLIN Oh...well try viewing it to see what's inside...but I am out of ideas. Try contacting MovieBerry. (Version 1.422)
| Jan 3 2010 |
APPLEJUNKIE Thanks, again, for your quick reply. I came to the same conclusion you did: it doesn't seem to be an problem with Ez7z but rather the file itself. I just sent a memo to MovieBerry requesting support. Nice job with Ez7z. It works quite well and is fast. My only suggestion is to provide a status bar when the program is working. When I originally expanded the split archive I had no idea what was happening, nor did I have a sense of progress until the expand was complete. (Version 1.422)
| Jan 3 2010 |
LEIF HEFLIN I'll get working on a progress bar for expansion soon. There's one for compression already but it doesn't really work for creating split archives yet. BUT I thought of a possible solution! Go into prefrences and check if "use unRAR to expand split archives" is enabled. If it is, disable it, and re-expand the multi-part archive from the beginning. (Version 1.422)
| Jan 3 2010 |
APPLEJUNKIE Good thought, but "use unRAR to expand split archives" was already disabled! I tried from the beginning with unRAR enabled to see what would happen and received message: /Users/username/Downloads/movie_name.dvd.7z.001 is not RAR archive No files to extract (Version 1.422)
| Dec 23 2009 |
APPLEJUNKIE How does this app work? I've downloaded 2 of 5 volumes of a movie from MovieBerry. The MovieBerry site indicates that the content is compressed by 7x archiver. So I downloaded Ez7z in hopes of decompressing the 5 files. When I try to Expand the first file, named "movie_name.part.dvd.7z.001", I receive the following: 7-Zip (A) 9.04 beta Copyright (c) 1999-2009 Igor Pavlov 2009-05-30 p7zip Version 9.04 (locale=utf8,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,2 CPUs) Processing archive: /Users/Username/Downloads/movie_name.part.dvd.7z.001 Also, if/when I finally get past the E_FAIL message, any suggestions about how I put the 5 files together to make a singe movie? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! (Version 1.42)
