Macintosh Software Search: Try our fast new search technology
|
DESCRIPTION
CPUPowerUp is a simple application that allocates more Processor Power to the frontmost application.

By how much does it increase speed?

I have been asked this question a lot because there are lots of applications similar to mine that claim to improve by up to 30%. I am distributing this free, so I am going to be honest from my experience and mishaps trying to tweak performance, using software alone it is ALMOST impossible to increase to that speed without affecting the Mac OS X multitasking abilities. The way I increase power will, I am letting you know up front, decrease some of your multitasking abilites (just a little). I wont go into details but here is a little peek:

Programs above 18mb - 5 programs over 18mb each using 1 window speeds up 15%, smaller programs using 2 windows, 20% max.

These speeds differ according to CPU Speed... Your Mileage May Vary!

ANONYMOUS  This program is nice but Process Wizard is better IMHO. It works in the menubar plus it uses less memory. (free too!)  (Version 1.b02)
