DESCRIPTION

MenuMeters is a set of CPU, memory, disk, and network monitoring tools for Mac OS X. Although there are numerous other programs which do the same thing, none had quite the feature set I was looking for. Most were windows that sat in a corner or on the desktop, which are inevitably obscured by document windows on a PowerBook's small screen. Those monitors which used the menubar mostly used the NSStatusItem API, which has the annoying tendency to totally reorder my menubar on every login.

The MenuMeters monitors are true SystemUIServer plugins (also known as Menu Extras). This means they can be reordered using command-drag and remember their positions in the menubar across logins and restarts.

MenuMeters is open source freeware released under the GNU General Public License

MUGENB16  love this app, always the first thing i install on any new/reformatted mac, (along with quicksilver ;P)

seems incompatible with leopard/boot camp...network info in the menubar resets after reboot.

hasn't been updated in a while, so i'm off to look for a replacement. it's served me well, and who knows, it may continue if i can't find a suitable replacement. though i think istatpro may have had similar functions (going by memory - so don't shoot).

cheers  (Version 1.3)

HOBY  Excellent little bit of code. My menubar is getting kind of crowded these days but menu meters are just so very useful! And with all the customizing you can do, they can either take up a little or a lot of bar space, depending on your needs.

They seem to use up far less CPU, RAM and any other three letter acronym than other metering/monitoring tools I've used - and they're configurable.

I also like this software because it doesn't try to all kinds of crazy useless things that it shouldn't. It does what it does and it does it well. And it's free.  (Version 1.3)

TOBBY MCROXOR  I love menumeters.

I can never again envision my computer without those graphs and data.

I especially like the peace of mind that results from knowing at a glance when my computer is transmitting data outbound.

I have other ways of doing this but none as convenient as menumeters.

Great program.   (Version 1.3)
