Not working on my Late-2006 2.16 GHz Core2Duo iMac 5,1 with 2 GB of RAM running OS 10.7.5 and Angry Birds Rio. When I click “Randomize" the address changes for a blink of an eye then changes back before you can say “donkey balls”. Nor does it heed the preference I have set to “Randomize address on Launch” — both addresses are always the same. Always. Same.
By the way, I’m not really sure if this app ever worked on my iMac because I never opened the WiFiSpoof Window until now. When I said in previous posts that it worked great, that just meant that I could see the WiFiSpoof icon when it was on, and I couldn’t see it when it was off. I know what you’re thinking, “He's a dunderhead.” But I assure you, there is no dunder in my head. Probably dander, though (On it, not In it, silly).
While I got you on the phone, let me ask you a question or two. When this app really works, does it really work? That is to say, is the WiFi MAC Address really the only means by which other computers on the network can identify my WiFi card, computer and fingertips? So every time I change the MAC Address — if WiFiSpoof COULD change the MAC Address — the network thinks mine is a totally different WiFi card, computer and fingertips? And if I have the firewall set to use Stealth Mode, can other people on the network see my computer name in the sidebar of a Finder window under the “SHARED” header? I can see them, but they can’t see me, is that the skinny? Or have I completely misunderstood Stealth Mode?
